127 - ‘Becoming A Good Storyteller Is An Entrepreneur’s Moral Obligation’, A Conversation W Chris Harder

Season #2

What an honour it is to have my friend & mentor Chris Harder on the ‘No Boring Stories’ Podcast today! It is a jam-packed episode as we talk about all things storytelling in the entrepreneurship realm, Chris’ significant life experiences that have led him to where he is today, and yes, how he is using storytelling right now :)

Chris is an entrepreneur, philanthropist & business strategist, + a tremendous giver at heart. He starts off our conversation with the notion that you sometimes have to be able to borrow other people’s belief in you, before YOU believe in you, as well as needing people to remind us of our backstory (i.e. where we won/demonstrated our talents) when we start to see it through a negative lens or it is forgotten.

Chris goes on to discuss an early moment in his life where a single individual reminded him of who he was, and ultimately set his career on its path to where it is currently! This instilled in him the importance of being unafraid to speak life into somebody as it can create a tremendous 'snowball effect' in that person’s life. Not only that, but seeking out the individual who has made a difference in your life, and telling them the outcome!

Not all of Chris’ moments are happy ones, though he shares that sometimes it is something that happens to you in a negative way that is ALSO one of the best parts of your story. On this topic of storytelling, he chats about how it is an entrepreneur’s moral obligation to become a good storyteller/tell their story well, and that even if you have a good message/product, your STORY is what is going to stop people in their tracks, spark their interest, and evoke emotion.

Chris is currently working on his life’s legacy project - a peer-to-peer lending app that pairs people who are in a financial jam with people that have the means to help get them out, and then slowly get paid back. This idea came from a real life scenario, and he has worked to package it into a genuine and impactful story, enrolling others into his vision, including his tech team partnership. He says, “If I wasn’t able to convey this story, it wouldn’t have happened.”

You can check out Chris’ podcast 'The Chris Harder Show', connect with him via Instagram @chriswharderas well as join his free text list in which he sends positive money mantras and business perspectives [Text DAILY to 310-421-0416]. It is a fantastic way to start your day, and as Chris says, “put on the right set of lenses before your feet hit the ground!”

Another fantastic episode for you all - thank you, Chris!
