90 - From Effort to Intentionality w Eva Shuman

Eva Shuman (Machado) is a nurse and business owner that has helped thousands of unfulfilled nurses who are struggling to work through the challenged of healthcare and national nursing shortage. She is the creator of Purpose People, a nursing lifestyle brand that supports nurses through merchandise, community, and giveback efforts. Purpose People has grown into a six-figure business that has shipped thousands of orders and delivered hundreds of care packages to nursing units across the country since its inception two years ago.

In speaking with Eva, a good portion of our conversation is centred around intentionality and the need for purposeful living. At one point, Eva mentions that “in order to truly live your purpose in life, you have to be intentional” … so insightful! She even shared that at different times in life, there was a confusion with what achievement and effort are versus intentionality. Oftentimes we try to get noticed or awarded, putting all our effort forward to feel like achievement is there and happening, and we lose sight and touch of the intentional and purposeful approach we should be taking on.

We had the opportunity to chat about competition, and specifically band and percussion competitions…how fun! It’s important to understand that the competitive atmosphere, whatever it may be for you, can be transformative – sure it helps us differentiate between winning and losing, success and failure, but also it firms the idea of community, and achieving something with your group of hardworking community members.
