84 - From Hiding to Confident w Susan Hay

Susan Hay – Suz – is a podcaster, community builder, mindset thought leader, and NLP business coach. She’s a college drop-out turned serial entrepreneur who loves building a business the bootstrapping kind of way. While Suz loves to share the successes of her entrepreneurial journey, like growing from zero clients to 7-figures, she also believes in talking about the failures too.

Previously, she owned a salon for 11 years and in 2019 made the deicion to sell it. From that moment forward, she claimed her mission of passing the entrepreneurial torch to as many women as possible. Suz is someone who wholeheartedly believes that when we rise together, we always get there faster and with better memories of the journey too! 

In our conversation, Suz shares some truly insightful things, mentioning that in her role as a business growth coach she consistently reminds her clients that people want to connect to the tone in your voice, to the emotion you’re portraying, and encourages more intentional presence in the online world. Social media gives us more access to people’s lives; however, we still don’t really see the full story – we only see the peaks, not the valleys.

Throughout our time together, Suz shares that “you should always be thinking about your dream client when you are creating content” and encourages asking, “what can I share with my dream clients that will inspire, motivate, or attract them into what I am doing?”. She also mentions that in order to get to this space in business, you must overcome the fears and beasts to find the confidence… “At the root, if we do not believe that we are worthy, then running a business will chew us up and spit us out.” A woman that has practiced what she preaches.
