By Faith...

Hebrews 11 is one of the most powerful and encouraging chapters in all the Bible for those in Youth Ministry.
By Faith…

Especially for those in Jr.High Ministry.
BY FAITH…

There are a few things that stand out to me in this chapter that lead me to use this as a passage to empower volunteer leaders heading into another ministry season.

1) Verse 3 - "what is seen was not made out of what was visible."

There is something supernatural to what we are dealing with. Remember that. There is always more to the young teen in your circle.  The girl that is full of drama has something more going on in her soul.  The guy that will not listen has just as much or more turmoil beneath the surface. The few you have been pouring into and praying for, for years, have a God that has breathed His Spirit into them and loves them more than you ever could.

2) The list of Failures

Noah, Moses, Abraham, Jacob, Moses, Rahab, and on and on…
Does this look like your team of volunteer Youth Workers?  Where do you fit on this list?  The beautiful thing is that we don't think we have enough faith to ever be remembered like this. These men and women were simply faithful to God's leading to minister to those around them. Aren't you doing the same?  By Faith…

3) Verses 39-40 - "did not receive what was promised, because God had provided something better for us, so that apart from us they would not be made perfect."

WHAT?!
GOD WANTS TO USE US!?
First - you (especially Jr.High Youth Workers) likely won't see what you are working so hard to see in these students' lives.  You plant the seed, and water it, but God makes it grow, and most often that happens under the leadership of someone else during the next couple of years of their lives.  BY FAITH…
Second - enjoy this.  You are being used by the same God that breathed out the stars, and apart from you this will not be happening.  It begins with God, it goes to you, and is then brought to the young teens you are ministering to...

by faith.
