I've Never Seen That Before

If you've ever muttered these words, "I've never seen that before", you are on to something wondrous.

If you feel like each day is the same, work is the same, the people, the drive, the weather, the lack of excitement.  Do yourself a favor, find something new and say to yourself or better yet someone next to you, "I've never seen that before."

Maybe it's the way the sky is painted with the most incredible colours at sunrise, or the way a 4-day-old-child rests in her mother's arms, or the way your broccoli becomes a vibrant green when steamed just right, or Justin Timberlake owning the stage, or a Jr.High boy saying 'Thank You!' after getting his prize, or a Christmas lights display, a wide open field, a group of kids playing at recess, or the massive trees next to the park..."I've never seen that before".

We pass by these things every day and rarely take a second to notice them.

It's time to wake up to the wonder of the world around you every day!

Karen and I will be heading to Niagara Falls today to celebrate my birthday.  I actually can't think of how many times we have been there on a small vacation just like this one, as a couple or with the kids.  We are amazed by Niagara Falls, even those measly little American Falls.  Whenever we stand at the corner of the Horseshoe Falls I find myself caught up in the immensity of the moment and it never fails that I see something new to be completely in awe of.

More than six million cubic feet (168,000 m3) of water falls over the crest line every min.

Being able to say,

"I've never seen that before" is cause for celebration.

If you died yesterday, you wouldn't have seen this new thing.

And tomorrow, there will be plenty more where that came from.
